Pastor Buddy and Hallie Himes
Buddy Himes has served as the Pastor of the Southwest Baptist Church in Midland, Texas since January of 2023. He and his wife Hallie have 5 children- Jackson, Peter, Charlotte, Claire, and Ruby.
After 11 years of ministry in Indiana, the Himes family moved to West Texas with a desire to reach the Permian Basin with the Gospel and grow Southwest Baptist Church for the glory of God. Their desire is for SWBC to be not just a congregation, but a family, where all are welcome to come experience the love and truth of God.

A Place For Growth
It won't take you long to realize that every worship service at South West Baptist is exciting and God-honoring. Each service provides you an opportunity to connect and grow closer to God through inspiring music, practical preaching, and a friendly atmosphere. We meet every week to glorify God together.
Where Adults Can Connect
At the core of every individual's life is a need for relationships--both with God and God's people. At SWBC Baptist Church, one way we strive to meet this need is through our SWBC Bible Classes. Each of these small groups are led by a capable Bible teacher and provide an environment where you can connect with others in your demographic. SWBC Bible Classes are a great place to build lifelong friendships with people who will encourage you in your walk with Christ.
Where Kids Can Connect
At SWBC, we desire to combine faith with fun as we teach every child how to know and love Jesus. Our Kids activities offer a fun atmosphere with games, snacks, as well as a Bible lesson tailored for each age group.
Every Sunday morning, our children's ministry provides classes for infants and children up to 6th grade.
A Place for Teens to Grow
SWBC is a great place for your teen to connect with other teenagers who are all trying to grow closer to Christ.
Teens meet every week at designated times. Teens can also connect with each other and to God through a variety of activities and trips throughout the year.
